The best sober stay isn’t the one with the spa.
It’s the one where no one asks if you want a drink.

I’ve slept in monasteries with no minibar.
I’ve woken in glass-walled cabins where the only thing poured was coffee.
I’ve house sat for strangers who left me their home, their dog, and their silence.

You don’t need “alcohol-free” in the title.
You need absence of pressure.

Look for:

  • Hotels with wellness menus longer than bar menus.
  • Retreats where silence is an amenity.
  • Airbnbs with “no parties” in the rules and herbal tea in the cupboard.

Book the place that makes you exhale.
The rest is just a bed.
