HEY! I’m Aaron, and yes, I’m the guy who swapped late night bars for border crossings, street food, and far too many jelly babies. I quit drinking on 23 July 2021, after a two day bender that made me rethink everything. Three sober years later, I’ve traveled a lot of countries totally dry, met tons of awesome travellers, and learned a ton along the way.
Wandersober isn’t just my journal (even though it did start off with daily journals, see if you can find them!) it’s my little SEO lab, adventure playground, and mission rolled into one.
Why This Site Exists
The night you stumble home, lost and wondering how you got here, that’s the night sobriety might find you. It’s not a choice made with perfect clarity at all, it’s more like a lifeline tossed your way. Those early days? I know how they are. Raw, lonely, terrifying at times. But also the moments where your story can start to unfold into something hopeful.
I know because I’ve been there. I hit my wall, set the bottle down, and discovered that travel could be different. Clear headed sunrises, real connections, authentic adventure, life without alcohol doesn’t mean boring, it means freedom.
