So, in a moment of pure genius/dark humor, I once tried to list my nan (RIP) on Gumtree under the “birds” section. Now, before you judge me, it was all in good fun. I wrote something like, “Lovely old bird, free to a good home, might need a bit of care and attention, but she’s a gem!”
Needless to say, Gumtree didn’t find it quite as funny as I did, and the ad got removed faster than you can say “inappropriate.” Lesson learned: turns out, selling your nan (even in jest) is a hard no on Gumtree.
Still, it gave the family a good laugh, and that’s what counts, right?
