Neon dreams at Cyberdog – Camden

I didn’t get sober to be “healthy”. I got sober because I nearly died, in the sea at 6am.

So, picture this: a bright day in London, and I’m on a mission with my mates A and L. We’re armed with a playlist of techno bangers and a shared ambition to get our rave on at Cyberdog as L was playing a techno set there, in a venue that looks like it was dropped from space and landed directly in Camden Market. You know, the kind of place where you half expect to see aliens trading glow sticks for fun

The Great Escape from Brighton

The drive from Brighton was more of a high octane techno road trip than a boring commute. A and I were vibing in the car like we were the next big DJ duo. We cranked the music, turning the volume up to 11, because why not? Every time a bass drop hit, we’d laugh and pretend we were headlining our own festival, complete with imaginary crowds cheering us on

As we approached Camden, I could feel the energy shifting. It was like the streets were pulsing with life, and I was ready to dive headfirst into the madness (Ps. I’m not a massive fan of London)

Camden Market Madness

Once we parked in the local co-op/waitrose or whatever supermarket I got a parking ticket in (hehe), and stepped out into the hustle and bustle of Camden Market, the sensory overload began haha. The air was thick with the scent of street food, and I could hear live music from every corner. It’s the kind of place where you can buy everything from vintage band tees to oddities that you didn’t know you needed (like a neon fanny pack with LED lights)

After navigating through a sea of unique stalls and potentially life altering food choices, we landed at a food stall that served the most mind blowing falafel wrap I’ve ever tasted. Seriously, if I could marry this wrap, I probably would have

With my stomachs happy and my wallet feeling a bit lighter, we finally made our way to Cyberdog

Welcome to the Neon Wonderland

Walking into Cyberdog is like stepping into a rave themed time machine. Neon lights flickered, and electronic music thumped through the air. The store is huge, like, “you could easily get lost and end up in an underground rave” kind of huge. Everywhere you looked, there were clothes that looked like they’d been designed by a group of rave loving cyborgs, plus the dancers we’re a nice touch

And then came the real reason for our visit: L’s techno gig. As the beats dropped, the shoppers transformed into a mass of people dancing like no one was watching. (But let’s be real; everyone was definitely watching) I couldn’t help but join in for a little bit, feeling the bass reverberate through my bones

A Day Well Spent

After a day filled with dancing, laughter, and more neon than you could shake a glow stick at, we stumbled out of Cyberdog. The streets were still alive, buzzing with energy from the daily festivities

Reflecting on the day, I realized that this wasn’t just a trip to a store or a day out, it was an adventure filled with unforgettable moments. Whether it was the random dance moves, the eclectic vibes of Camden Market, or the pulsating beats that kept us moving, every part of the day felt perfectly chaotic
